Individual Temperature Compensation
Turning a lab prototype into a device built for production — the final project of my apprenticeship at Contrinex.

- −25 → 75 °C
- Climate-chamber range the device has to live with
- ≈ 70 h
- Effective work: calculations, CAD, measurements, assembly and tests
- V1 → V2
- From lab prototype to a version ready for industrialisation
The problem
A first version of the ITC already existed: a prototype built in the R&D lab. It proved the idea, but it was not made for everyday use on a production floor.
Part of the machine sits inside a climate chamber that swings from −25 °C up to 75 °C. Everything that goes in there has to survive those cycles, come out easily and be swapped without fuss. The goal: make it removable, interchangeable and reliable — and ready to be built again and again.
It remains an internal production tool, so only the outside of the device is shown here.
What I did
Redesigned the PCBs
New boards built for the production version: robust, easy to mount and quick to replace.
Designed an enclosure
A housing drawn in CAD that protects the electronics and makes the modules removable and interchangeable.
Made it reliable
Calculations, measurements, assembly and tests until the whole system held up in real conditions.
Made it scalable
Designed to be reproduced for industrialisation — not a one-off, but a device the company can build again.
